Learn to Network - Network to Learn

After the last post, I thought I would add the first example of how my Twitter network contributes to my professional development. The following image is of my Tweetdeck, and because my North American peers are quite a few hours behind us here in Europe, I can see all the previous day's action first thing in the morning.

So, first thing this morning I found this from @khokanson to @elemenous. Sounded interesting, so I went to the shortened link (because we are limited to 140 characters, links can be shortened within Twitter) and found the following slideshow.

A great piece of work from @elemenous. I think I have seen her work somewhere else recently, so it makes a lot of sense to add her to my Twitter network and therefore, my PLN.

All I have to do is click on @elemenous and I get the following.

I can see from her profile that she is an Apple Distinguished Educator (great start), that she is a technology coach (more points), and from one of her recent posts she is interested in IB training (seeing as we are at an IB World school, I might be able to offer her some help too). The next thing I do is click on the Follow button as I think she really is up my tree. Although I've read it before, the Learn to Network - Network to Learn title for this post came from the @elemenous' slideshow. I think I will probably adopt it for a while until my 23 Things colleagues get sick of it :)

The Seven Ways to Find Teachers on Twitter posted recently on the Free Technology for Teachers blog, should set you on the path to network nirvana.
